Aluvial Fan

Grand Prismatic

The beauty of Rocky Mountain National Park's Aluvial Fan is a result of a cataclysmic event several years back. In 1982 the southern wall of the peaceful Lawn Lake gave way sending millions of gallons of waters sweeping through the Rocky Mountain National Park and nearby Estes Park. What resulted was a beautiful cascading waterfall through a field of boulders the size of cars. It changed the surrounding area and created new habitats for the local wildlife.
